#Float2Nature

It all started on December 6, 2011, the day when Inoe (lembah-pelangi.com) & his partner, Anya, attended an event called “Floatspot” which was presented by Float at Galeri Foto Jurnalistik Antara Jakarta. During the event, they were wondering if “Floatspot” was held in the open air, where people would be able to enjoy a blend of both the band's music performance and the beauty of nature, away from urban life. A few days later, Inoe shared the idea with Float on Twitter and got a very positive respond. A schedule for a meeting was immediately set.

In early January 2012, Float represented by Meng and Lembah Pelangi by Inoe got to meet. The two agreed to mix a trip by Lembah Pelangi & Floatspot at Dieng plateau, Wonosobo, Central Java. Nyanyu of PicnicHolic was also interested to join in with her idea of "green travel" where some amount of the registration fee, paid by each attendee, will be donated to tree care program for Dieng. This idea finally built the whole concept of “Float2Nature”: music, landscape, tree care.

The concept attracted more support. Harley B Sastha of MountMag offered a role as their official media partner. Yudha Hari Radithe with his team at AiDEA Creative House also joined in to get in charge of the event's audio visual promotion and documentary.

Float2Nature will be held on June 8-10, 2012.

A Delay

After going through a very long production process, we're terribly sorry to announce that our plan to release our new album "Eleven" at the end of this year needs to be delayed. We're not satisfied enough with the materials that we have so far. We really hope that you floateds would understand and believe that this hard decision we've made is based solely on our desire to give you our best work. As an antidote to your disappointment, we're still going to release a single very soon, before the end of this year. Thank you so much for giving us support that we really need to keep on making music.

Float's New Album In Progress

Float's last published work released in 2008. The song titled "Waltz Musim Pelangi", included in the compilation album "Songs Inspired by Laskar Pelangi" (Miles Music, 2008). It was the first time Meng worked on his music without the involvement of fellow floaters in "3 Hari Untuk Selamanya", Windra "Bontel" Benyamin (guitar) & Raymond "Remon" Agus Saputra (bass).

After two years, Meng finally found his new team to resurrect Float. It all started when he met again with Timur Segara (drums, Clorophyl) in early December 2010. Timur suggested that, with a new team, Float should get back on stages. As their very first appearence, they planned to perform at Java Jazz Festival 2011 with Meng's brother in-law, Leo Christian (bass, Ecoutez!), who happened to be Timur's old friend back then in highschool. To complete the formation, David Q Lintang (gitar, Clorophyl) and Iyas Pras (keyboard, Ecoutez!) joined in.

After only few rehearsals, with some minor adjustments, the chemistry required to bind the group together began to reveal itself. As it grew stronger, now they've made new arrangements in "3 Hari Untuk Selamanya", "Sementara", "Surrender", "Tiap Senja", "Stupido Ritmo", "Pulang", a new song written by Meng, "Indah Hari Itu".

Float didn't get to perform in Java Jazz Festival 2011 due to the registration deadline. The short-term project then changed its direction. Not only getting in public performances, with their new commitment, the new team are now working on a new album.
